Strong Exhibitor Registration for ProWine China 2016ProWine China 2016, International Trade Fair for Wines and Spirits, is experiencing strong exhibitor registration – both for country group pavilions and individual exhibits. Exhibitors from Africa, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belarus, Canada, Chile, China, Ecuador, France, Finland, Germany, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Kazakhstan, Latvia and Macedonia as well as Moldova, Portugal, South Africa, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Romania, Russia and the U.S. already confirmed their participation. ProWine China 2016 is jointly organized by the Messe Düsseldorf Group (organizer of ProWein, the leading international trade fair for wines and spirits held annually in Düsseldorf, Germany) and China International Exhibitions Ltd., a member of the Allworld Exhibitions network

Reflecting the stability in the market and growing demand for import wines, many country group pavilions have enlarged their exhibit space compared to the 2015 staging. The Georgia pavilion will feature wine producers on more than 1,000 square feet. Other national pavilions such as France and Greece will also bring more of their top wine producers. Australia booked 20% more space at ProWine China 2016 – due to the China-Australia Free Trade Agreement (ChAFTA).

Spirits Bar

A special feature at ProWine China 2016 will be the Spirits Bar, managed by the Hong Kong Bartenders’ Association. Neil Wong, President of the Hong Kong Bartenders’ Association, stated: “The Hong Kong Bartenders’ Association is delighted to be responsible for the Spirits Bar at ProWine China 2016. It will be operated by professional bartenders from Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland and include guest bartenders from the exhibiting companies. For exhibitors who don’t have their own bartenders at the show, the Spirits Bar provides an opportunity to showcase their products. Exhibitors can give us recipes of the best cocktails using their products and our professional bartenders will make and offer them to the professional audience. The Shanghai and Chinese market for cocktails and spirits has grown rapidly in recent years and the Spirits Bar at ProWine China 2016 provides the perfect opportunity for exhibitors to showcase their products beyond their stands.”

To date, Armenia, France, Italy, Russia and Mexico – with long traditions of spirit production – have confirmed their participation. Producers of spirits from Finland, Latvia, Moldova and Sweden have also signed up.

Education Campaign

The “ProWine China Education Campaign” with high-quality seminars for wine education and training was created in 2014 to meet the rising demand for wine knowledge in China. Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Forum, Master Class, Industry Summit and Thematic Tasting are all under its umbrella. WSET is the largest global provider of qualifications in the field of wines and spirits. The highlight of this year’s “ProWine China Education Campaign” will be the Thematic Tasting of Grand Fine Wine and Biodynamic Wine. Neal Martin, whose current remit includes  Bordeaux (with Robert Parker), Burgundy, Oregon, South Africa, Madeira and Tokaji, as well as contributing chapters for Parker’s 7th Wine Buyers Guide, will bring Robert Parker Wine Advocate 95+ point wines to the tasting and share his knowledge of these premier wines.
