TERRY DOHERTY JOINS GOOSE RIDGE ESTATE VINEYARDS & WINERY AS CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

Family owned and operated Goose Ridge Estate Vineyards & Winery announced today the appointment of 20-year Washington state wine industry veteran, Terry Doherty, to Chief Operating Officer. Doherty will focus on sustainably growing the estate, its branded products and its custom services. Doherty transitioned into the role in November 2022, following the retirement of Glen Ward, long-time Goose Ridge executive and steadfast advisor to the Monson family.

Terry Doherty Named COO of Goose Ridge Estate Vineyards & Winery

“We’ve known Terry Doherty for many years and always hoped we’d find the right time and role for him to join the Goose Ridge family. Terry’s strong relationships with supply chain partners paired with his deep industry knowledge and experience will be key in efficiently navigating the challenges and opportunities that growth often brings,” explained Bill Monson, Goose Ridge Vineyards and Winery President and CEO.

Doherty joins Goose Ridge after 20 harvests at Ste. Michelle Wine Estates, where he most recently served as Director of Capacity and Asset Utilization. Collectively, Doherty’s decades-long, diverse experience within the industry from viticulture to grower relations to operations, gives him unique perspective to benefit the growing Goose Ridge brand. “I’m proud to have joined such an amazing Washington wine brand at a pivotal time in its growth journey. I’ve been following Goose Ridge my whole career and have always admired their grit and willingness to be bold,” said Terry Doherty. “My biggest priority in this role is to expand and scale up the Goose Ridge portfolio and grow the Washington Wine market share. For me, the key to that is building and nurturing strong relationships with the right partners.”

A Washington state native, Terry Doherty became hooked on the wine industry after taking an introduction to viticulture class at Washington State University Tri-Cities as an undergrad. He spent fifteen years in grower relations, during which Washington wine experienced expansive growth.  In 2017, Doherty transitioned into the operations department, where his focus shifted to logistics and product development. In short, Doherty’s career has given him a unique set of skills across multiple aspects of the wine business from growing the grapes to the distributor floor.
