The St. Regis Atlanta Creates New Holiday Traditions

The St. Regis Atlanta Creates New Holiday TraditionsThe St. Regis Atlanta, an unparalleled in-town resort celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2019, is pleased to announce its new experience, The Art of Curating, a quarterly culinary series during which food and beverage industry leaders and innovators come together to teach hotel guests and local residents new skills and the latest industry trends.

“The St. Regis Atlanta was built on a strong legacy of elegance and tradition, but we are always looking for modern ways to enhance the guest experience, especially as we celebrate our 10th year,” said Guntram Merl, general manager at The St. Regis Atlanta. “The Art of Curating series will bring a fresh, innovative tradition to our property that is constantly evolving and delighting both our guests and Atlantans.

Starting November 7, 2019 from 5 — 6:30 p.m., The Art of Curating series will occur quarterly featuring a different culinary experience and expert for each iteration. The first class will be hosted by celebrity mixologist, Juan Coronado, who will lead up to 12 guests in curating a collection of forward-thinking cocktails. Coronado will be teaching guests to create five to seven innovative, trendy cocktails, as well as classics drinks. One cocktail he will demonstrate is called, “Easy Lover,” a gin-based drink featuring unique ingredients like butterfly pea flower, chickpea water also known as Aquafaba and plum wine. The Art of Curating class with Juan Coronado is priced at $150 per person, and bookings for this once-in-a-lifetime class can be made by calling (404) 563-7969.

The interactive experience will be held in the spacious St. Regis Bar. This will be the first time the St. Regis Bar will been closed for a private event in the 10 years the hotel has been open. Although the main bar will be closed, The Wine Room, an extended area of the bar, will have regular bar service for those not participating in The Art of Curating class.

Juan Coronado began his career as the champagne sommelier at the Bubble Lounge in New York City and served as an educator teaching a “Champagne 101” class for The New York Times. From there, Coronado helped open Sortie, a bar located in the neighborhood of Hell’s Kitchen in New York City, where he created forward-thinking and innovating cocktails. Coronado has won many awards, including Eater’s “Best Bartender” in 2015 and the “Rum Cocktail Awards” in 2005, 2006 and 2012.
