TRADE Food Hall adds NEW Mexicana Concept: Tavo’s Cocina!

TRADE Food Hall– Orange County’s premiere marketplace of visionary restaurateurs and retailers– has announced the addition of Mexicana concept, Tavo’s Cocina, to the venue’s unique lineup. The all-new restaurant from SoCal-based Chef Gustavo Aranda is focused on celebrating the art of Mexicana cooking by examining traditional cuisine with a fresh lens. Conceptualized with the ambiance of TRADE’s indoor/outdoor communal space in mind, Tavo’s Cocina aims to make every diner feel welcome, while sharing new, vibrant flavors along the way.

Signature dishes include Tavo’s Asada— served on a homemade tortilla, topped with pickled cactus, queso fresco, and spicy red salsa– and decadent La Govenador Tacos with shrimp, chipotle sauce, melted cheese, and fresh pico. In addition to the cultural classics familiar to SoCal diners, Tavo’s offers vegan, vegetarian, and keto-friendly options, including lettuce-wrapped burritos and a keto Al Pastor Taco. To deliver a sip of freshness and to be enjoyed alongside the savory plates, Mexicana beverages include freshly-made Agua Frescas with flavors like Jamaica, Tamarindo, Watermelon Fresca, and Cucumber Limonada.

“We are incredibly excited to join the acclaimed concepts at TRADE by bringing fresh, Mexicana cuisine, with a focus on vibrant flavors, that guests may not have experienced before,” said Chef Gustavo. “Every single one of our dishes are crafted with love, the secret ingredient, which ensures that every bite is an explosion of warmth and innovation. We’re thrilled to be able to share joy through food with our guests—straight from our cocina to your table.”

“Tavo’s Cocina is a wonderful addition to our slate of well-conceptualized eateries here at TRADE and we are thrilled to now offer Tavo’s vibrant & worldly Mexicana cuisine, which was previously not represented at our food hall,” said property manager Kana Lee.

TRADE Food Hall– managed by Lincoln Property Group and owned by Daiwa House Texas Inc.– has become home to Orange County’s most buzz-worthy food concepts since first opening in 2017. Located in the heart of the Orange County Airport commercial district, TRADE is the first chef-driven food hall to land in Irvine. In addition to Tavo’s Cocina, the food hall boasts a curated lineup of hand-selected restaurateurs who offer a diversified flavor palette of global cuisines. In light of the pandemic’s restrictions on eateries across the country, TRADE Food Hall’s open-air concept is a design that has proved to sustain customer traffic by providing an al fresco dining experience that will continue to serve the community in the months to come.

Tavo’s Cocina is now open Monday-Wednesday, 11AM-7PM, Thursday-Friday from 11AM-8PM, and Saturday from 11AM-7PM.  Guests can visit Tavo’s as well as the other food concepts and retailers within TRADE Food Hall at 2222 Michelson Drive in Irvine.
