ZING® SPIRITS LIGHTS UP LAS VEGAS WITH NEW SUPER PREMIUM RED VELVET FLAVORED VODKA AND ILLUMINATED BOTTLE DESIGN

ZING® Spirits, poised to invigorate the Super Premium vodka category, is pleased to debut its first two introductions to the Las Vegas market. ZING Vodka is a 4X distilled Super Premium vodka with outstanding drinkability, and ZING Red Velvet combines the rich taste of red velvet cake with unparalleled smoothness, creating the ultimate indulgent drinking experience.

“We wanted to launch ZING Spirits by choosing a flavor that will not only excite consumers, but to which the Maloof family has a real connection,” said Adrienne Maloof, ZING Spirits partner. “Growing up, our family gravitated to the kitchen where our mother loved to bake for us. One of her specialties was red velvet cake, so it was only natural that my brothers and I selected ZING Red Velvet as the first flavor for this vibrant new brand.”

ZING Spirits partners, including Maloof Ventures, its partner Idol Roc Entertainment, and ZING® Spirits CEO Michael Farbenblum, collectively created a unique bottle design which boasts sophisticated LED technology that illuminates the bottle with just one touch. In addition to the light, ZING’s high energy brand is reinforced through its unique hexagonal shaped bottle, which features high end chrome accents. This stand-out design will capture the attention of consumers at restaurants and bars, and add a wow factor to private events and celebrations.

“Elegant yet daring, the radiant packaging cleverly incorporates ZING branding and an incredibly decadent vodka with illumination technology for an exceptional presentation,” said Michael Farbenblum, CEO of ZING Spirits. “The product and light reinforce ZING Vodka’s underlying image of excitement and opulence, turning ordinary moments into extraordinary ones.”

ZING Super Premium Vodka and ZING Red Velvet are available in a 750 mL bottles, retailing for $24.99. Currently, ZING Premium Vodka and ZING Red Velvet are available at on and off-premise accounts throughout Las Vegas, NV. ZING Red Velvet and ZING Super Premium Vodka will be available in Las Vegas starting in September and California soon after, with our national expansion planned for early 2013

About ZING® Spirits
For the Maloofs, family and tradition are everything.

When the latest generation decided to grow its long established footprint in the spirits industry, it was only natural to select a brand with which they could marry their collective entrepreneurial expertise with their family experience.

When the family’s Maloof Ventures company discovered ZING® Vodka, its first challenge was to design an innovative bottle and select a unique premier flavor that would appeal not only to consumers, but also resonate with these tight-knit siblings.

Growing up, the family’s kitchen was a very special place where the Maloof siblings would watch their mother bake treats for every occasion. One of her specialties was red velvet cake, which was often served on her children’s birthdays. With these happy, nostalgic occasions in mind, the Maloofs decided upon a red velvet flavored vodka to launch ZING and carry forward this special tradition in a new way.

“When I was a kid I remember my dad, George Maloof, Sr. telling us, ‘Someday, somebody is going to make a drink that tastes just like your mother’s red velvet cake.’ So we did. Cheers Dad.”- Joe Maloof

MALOOF FAMILY HISTORY

The Maloof family history in the United States dates back more than 100 years when Joe G. Maloof, an immigrant from Lebanon, established the family’s first business by opening a small general store in northern New Mexico in 1892. By the 1930s, the Maloof family acquired the first distribution rights outside of Colorado to Coors Beer and subsequently established their oldest business operation, Quality Imports in 1937. George Maloof, Sr. took the helm of the growing family business in the 1950s at the age of 21 upon the death of his father, Joe G. Maloof.

George Maloof, Sr. successfully expanded the family business into a group of diversified companies headquartered in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The business moved into the hotel and banking sectors when George Maloof, Sr. opened the family’s first hotel in Albuquerque in 1972 and rescued First National Bank of Albuquerque in 1974. In 1978, responding to his love for sports and competition, George Maloof, Sr. purchased the majority ownership of the NBA’s Houston Rockets. The company sold their share in the team in 1982.

Upon his death in 1980, his wife Colleen Maloof, assumed control of the entire Maloof operation and enlisted the assistance of her five children to run the business. Under the leadership of Colleen, the family expanded their beer and liquor distribution operations and later opened their first gaming property in 1992, Central Palace Casino in Central City, Colorado. The family acquired the NBA’s Sacramento Kings, Monarch and Knights and ARCO Arena in 1998. The company has a substantial holding in Wells Fargo & Company, which has banking, insurance, and investment offices throughout the United States.

The Maloof Companies expanded into the Las Vegas gaming market in 1994 when the Fiesta Casino Hotel opened in the northwest area of the city, becoming the second largest employer in North Las Vegas. George Maloof, Jr.’s vision helped him brand the highly popular and successful Fiesta in a competitive locals’ market. The Fiesta Casino Hotel created numerous community events including an annual Fourth of July fireworks show that drew thousands of spectators and the holiday season’s Festival of Lights which featured flying Santas, a tree-decorating contest for elementary and middle school students, and illumination of the hotel with thousands of festive lights. When the Palms Casino Resort opened in November, 2001, it marked the family’s second gaming venture in Las Vegas.

Today, Colleen Maloof serves as Chair of the Board of Directors of the Maloof Companies. Joe Maloof is President of the corporation and oversees the banking and beverage divisions. Gavin Maloof is Vice Chair, and oversees the daily operation of the sports and entertainment division.

George Maloof, Jr. is an Executive Vice President and heads the hotel division, while Adrienne Maloof is the Secretary/Treasurer of the company. Phil Maloof is an Executive Vice President and, at age 32, was one of the youngest state senators (New Mexico) in the country.

The Maloof Companies are a diversified group of business ventures including hotels, casinos, banking, food and beverage, transportation and sports entertainment headquartered in Albuquerque, New Mexico and operated in New Mexico, Colorado, California and Nevada.
