“Helping develop and advance the role of, and for, women in the foodservice industry remains one of the most important priorities I’ve set in my own career, so to be recognized for that is a tremendous and humbling honor.  As I look back on the last 3 ½ decades, I am so proud of what women in our industry have accomplished and so grateful to all the people who have worked hard, achieved results, looked out for each other and have proven what a great industry this is. In those same 3 ½ decades, so many have shared, taught, listened, challenged, debated, supported me; they paid it forward.  To continue to do the same, to pay it forward, is a must do and love to do,” said Edna Morris.

Edna Morris is Managing Director of Axum Capital Partners, leading the restaurant practice for the firm, which recently completed the acquisition of Wild Wing Café. Additionally, Edna is chief executive officer and partner in Range Restaurant Group, with two CityRange restaurants in upstate South Carolina. She previously led the James Beard Foundation as President and was a founding member and Chairwoman of the Women’s Foodservice Forum. She has served on the board of Einstein Noah Restaurant Group, Cosi, Inc., the Culinary Institute of America and is in her 12th year of service as a Board member of Tractor Supply Company.

“The Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association welcomes the celebration of exceptional women in the restaurant industry through the Foodservice Council for Women’s Beacon Award.
