AmeriPride Receives ‘Best in Show’ Award from United WayAmeriPride Services Inc., a leading supplier of linen and uniform rental services in North America, today announced it was the recipient of the ‘Best in Show’ Award from Greater Twin Cities United Way for its 2013 campaign that successfully incorporated best practices in fundraising and philanthropy, employee engagement and campaign innovation and achieved a significant increase in campaign revenue and participation.

“Support of United Way and other charitable organizations through participation and donations helps strengthen our ties to the communities we serve,” said Bill Evans, President and CEO of AmeriPride. “And it’s nice to know that as we continue to grow our business, we also continue to grow our charitable giving programs.”

AmeriPride raised more than $110K for United Way through the annual AmeriPride Golf Tournament and other fundraising events, as well as corporate, vendor and employee contributions. Their donation increased by 22 percent over the previous year and more than 80 percent over 2011.

“We were very pleased to present AmeriPride with this prestigious award for their outstanding efforts in 2013,” said Sarah Caruso, President and CEO of Greater Twin Cities United Way. “The company and its employees have demonstrated their generosity and dedication to creating lasting change in the communities where it does business.”

Last year’s campaign included the annual golf tournament at Bearpath Golf & Country Club in Eden Prairie, as well as other internal activities and an employee payroll deduction program. Employees from the corporate headquarters in Minnetonka participated in the events, as well as vendor partners that provide products and services to the organization.

“I’m pleased that our vendors and partners share our values and understand the importance of giving back to the community,” said Evans. “Their willingness to support our efforts helps strengthen the relationships between our organizations and build trust, respect and continued cooperation among us.”

Last year’s campaign was limited to the Corporate Resource Center in Minnetonka, Minn. and a few of its surrounding facilities. AmeriPride has 45 production facilities across the U.S. and Canada and each participates in their own individual charitable giving and community service programs.
