Chef John Tesar Announces 5 Fundraising Dinners at KnifeDALLAS  (May 20, 2015) – Going the extra mile as Dallas Ambassador Chef for this year’s EAT (RED) DRINK (RED) SAVE LIVES campaign, nationally-acclaimed chef John Tesar has announced an unprecedented five consecutive fund

raising dinners at Knife at The Highland Dallas June 1-5. The series will kick off with Austin BBQ legend and recent James Beard Best Chef: Southwest award winner

Aaron Franklin, cooking for his first time ever in Dallas. The week will continue with a remarkable list of renowned chefs including Alex Stratta (Las Vegas), Naomi Pomeroy (Portland), Tim Rattray (San Antonio) and Kris Morningstar (Los Angeles).

“I’m humbled that five of my favorite chefs have found the time to come cook with me for this important cause,” Tesar said. “It’s going to be epic.”

Each exclusive dinner, with a one-night-only special menu, will take place in a specially decorated event room at The Highland Dallas, and

be strictly limited to an intimate 40 seats, with ticket prices set at $150, inclusive of beverages and gratuities. Each dinner begins at 7 p.m. and half of each ticket  price will go directly to EAT (RED) DRINK (RED) SAVE LIVES.  To reserve your seat and purchase tickets, call the restaurant directly at (214) 443-9339 or visit knifedallas.com/events/eat-red-drink-red-save-lives (online purchasing fee does apply).

The Highland Dallas will celebrate the campaign and kick off the restaurant’s special dinner series by lighting the building red. The hotel will also support the initiative by offering guests a special room rate to enjoy its ultra-chic hotel accommodations June 1-5, to run in conjunction with the dinners. Room rates are prices at $159 and $5 of each booking will be contributed to EAT (RED) DRINK (RED) SAVE LIVES; scheduling is based upon availability and tax is not included.

Continuing to support this fundraiser throughout the month of June, Knife will also offer a special “red” menu and “red” cocktail during normal dining hours, as well as include an extra donation line on all guest checks.

Tesar adds, “While there have been significant improvements in medicine since the epidemic began, allowing people to live longer lives, the hard fact is there are people getting newly infected everyday. HIV/AIDS is everyone’s public health issue so if I can be even just a small part ending this disease, then it’s my privilege to be actively involved with EAT (RED) DRINK (RED) SAVE LIVES.”
