El Cortez Hotel & Casino, a cherished landmark in downtown Las Vegas, proudly announces the appointment of Michael Yi as Director of Food & Beverage. In his role, Yi will oversee the storied hotel’s renowned restaurant concept, Siegel’s 1941, along with all property bars and cocktail service.

Yi brings over 25 years of experience in the Las Vegas hospitality industry to the storied property, most recently serving as the General Manager of Restaurants at Silverton Hotel & Casino. Previous hospitality experience includes serving as the General Manager of China Tang at MGM Grand Hotel & Casino and working to open the Yellowtail at Bellagio with Chef Akira Back. Yi also worked for the Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group during the expansion to Las Vegas. In his free time, Yi enjoys cooking, discovering new wines and spirits and spending time with family.

Yi’s appointment marks an exciting chapter in El Cortez’s future. The fusion of his expertise with El Cortez’s rich heritage promises an anticipated dining journey in the heart of downtown Las Vegas.
