Spaghetti’s bosom buddy is the tasty theme for this special competition as the chefs learn they must make meatballs in every round. Crème brûlée is the mystery ingredient curveball in the first meatball round. Then in the entrée round, boar shoulder meets the meat grinder. In the final round, the remaining contestants come up with unique interpretations of a “dessert meatball.”

Then in the entree round, meat and potatoes seem like gifts, but what will the star cooks do to bring yule logs to the holiday party? This special competition is all about celebrating the sandwich – every which way it may be prepared. The chefs must make entrée-worthy sandwiches from pork shoulder and pâté. Stacking up dessert sandwiches is fun, but what will the two finalists make with Thai curry paste and chocolate-covered espresso beans?

Competition is a family affair when a mother, father, daughter and son who run a restaurant together compete to see who will become Chopped Champion. The last two chefs proudly fight for the title as they create desserts using lobster tail pastries and cinnamon chips.

Three chefs get sloppy as they dig for ingredients in a slop trough. Then, one chef has to grab their curry spices out of the air. Finally, host Alton Brown’s auction leads to one chef ending up in a big, blue ball to make blueberry muffins.

  • Premiering Sunday, December 21st at 10pm – “I Would Do Anything for Loaf”

A chef must wear host Alton Brown‘s ultimate poncho to make a breakfast quesadilla. Then, one chef has to cook meatloaf while in a recliner. Finally, a chef has to walk on cupcake boxes to make cupcakes.

Two chefs have to cook breakfast as a tag team. Then, another chef gets to chop up someone’s pork chop with host Alton Brown’s ax. Finally, someone has to cook an ice cream cone in traffic cones.

This trip, Guy hits the road for some outrageous seafood and tasty bird. In Des Moines, Iowa, a trophy-winning barbecue joint smokes up all kinds of unique wings, and dishes out a delicious apple dumpling dessert. Across town in West Des Moines, a real deal Ecuadorian spot cooks up authentic specialties like chicken with rice and pork with hominy. In Eugene, Oregon, a seafood market serves up totally fresh-caught Dungeness crab and a Cajun crawfish pie.

  • Premiering Monday, December 22nd at 9pm – “Southern Spectacular”

Nothing like a little Southern hospitality to tickle your taste buds. In this one-hour special, Guy’s celebrating good old Southern home cooking, from collards and grits in South Carolina to scratch-made biscuits in Oregon. Then Guy is in St. Louis for some real deal soul food, Cajun classics in Indiana, dumplings in the Carolinas and po’ boys in Kentucky. The Southern journey ends with a memorable Michigan joint serving gizzards!

It is time to wake up and smell the coffee, because in this one-hour special, Guy’s rustling up the best of breakfast. From California to Florida, New York to Arizona, Guy covers all the classics, like killer waffles, old-school biscuits and gravy, huevos rancheros and an out-of-bounds hash extravaganza. Plus, Guy finds some not-so-typical early morning bites, like Louisiana veal, bacon donuts and a pancake that looks just like Guy himself.

Food Truck Face Off  

  • Premiering Thursday, December 4th at 8pm – “Downtown Throwdown”

Host Jesse Palmer takes two culinary teams through their paces in Toronto as they compete for the keys to their dream: their very own food truck. Whoever earns the most money over two grueling sell days, wins.  On day one the newbies sell against each other. But hope is not lost – they have one more day to sell – this time, alongside established and well-loved food trucks at a local meet up in Hamilton, Ontario. They double down hard to pull in every last dollar!

Four teams of food truck wannabes pitch their food and food truck concepts to an expert panel of judges, but only two get selected to face off on the streets of Niagara, selling their food from customized food trucks for two intense days. Whoever makes the most money will get to keep their truck! The competitive action gets underway in iconic Niagara Falls, as the teams make hazardous rookie errors, burn food and leave hungry tourists to cool their heels. Stressed and anxious, the learning curve is steep for day two, as both teams sell to discerning foodies alongside established food trucks at Niagara-on-the Lake’s Peller Estates Winery.

  • Premiering Thursday, December 18th at 8pm – “Match Up on Toronto Islands”

Toronto is treated to a match up like it has never seen as two food truck owner-hopefuls duke it out for the prize of owning their own food truck. The team that makes the most money over two days of intense selling, wins. Host Jesse Palmer blows the horn on the first sell period on gorgeous Toronto Island and the customers are hungry! But are the teams ready?  Tension, arguments and stress mounts as they discover that best laid plans threaten to go horribly awry. With lessons learned going into day two, the teams fight hard for every dollar while up against established food trucks at Trinity Bellwoods Park.

Guy’s Grocery Games

  • Premiering Sunday, December 7th at 8pm – “Let Them Eat Toast”

Four chefs have to make French toast in Aisle Down, but can they make a winning dish without a key component? Next up is the dreaded Can Can, where the chefs are challenged to make a steak dinner using only canned items. Then, it is a test of agility in No Carts Allowed, as the final two chefs make a soup and sandwich combo.

  • Premiering Sunday, December 14th at 8pm – “Dashing Thru the Aisles” – HOLIDAY EPISODE!

Next, the chefs create decadent holiday desserts in Watch Your Weight. The spirit of the season is in full swing as the final two chefs make an elegant New Year’s dinner in No Carts Allowed.

It is winter nights and holiday breakfasts in this episode hosted by Bobby Deen, when the four bakers are first tasked to use the classic holiday flavors of peppermint and hot chocolate in a dessert. Then, they must create a blown-out holiday breakfast complete with three sweet dishes.
