Harbor View Hotel Bakes for Breast Cancer This Mother’s DayHarbor View Hotel, one of Martha’s Vineyard’s most iconic establishments, will be pushing pink this weekend celebrating moms and supporting the fight against breast cancer. Through Sunday, May 11, Henry’s Hotel Bar, Harbor View’s gastropub, will donate the proceeds from its Raspberry Macaron With Basil Chocolate Ganache  to Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer, a fundraiser dedicated to supporting breast cancer research and treatment.

Since 2000, Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer has used its funds to support the Dana-Faber Cancer Institute in hopes of finding a cure. Founder Carol Brownman Sneider began the organization to pay tribute to her mother, whom she lost to the disease in 1973 at the age of 44. Those who purchase Harbor View Pastry Chef Nikolas Mastalerz’s delicious dessert this weekend will have 100 percent of their sale donated to the cause.

This macaron was created with women in mind and compliments the Mother’s Day festivities of the Vineyard’s Pink and Green Weekend. For the past three years, Edgartown, an elegant seaport village on the island, has organized a variety of pink and green activities for mothers to enjoy.

While on the Vineyard, guests can treat Mom to an array of activities, including meals at Harbor View’s own Henry’s Hotel bar, featuring the Raspberry Macaron With Basil Chocolate Ganache and a menu of island-to-table cuisine; Edgartown’s many shops and galleries; and walking trails perfect for exploring the island’s flora and fauna. The hotel’s convenient location puts it just steps from the weekend’s Pink & Green celebrations, including a cocktail contest, Cirque du Pink & Green at Donaroma’s Nursery, and the Pink & Green Ball at the Field Club.

During brunch, guests can also raise a glass to the winners of the Pink & Green Festival’s “Mom of the Year” essay contest winners as they each read their essays aloud at 11 a.m. Brunch is $58 for adults and $28 for children 12 and under.
