Thanksgiving to Air Nationally on PBS Again in 2013 and 2014

The American appetite for classic family holiday warmth, and for cooking and home repair programming, will be satisfied again this holiday season with the national broadcast of A Home for Christy Rost: Thanksgiving on PBS and CREATE TV.

Rost hosts her national television special from her historic 1898 mountain home, Swan’s Nest, in Breckenridge, Colorado. The program is viewed by millions across the United States on PBS and Create TV each November. Connecting with viewers in every part of America with her warm and passionate approach to cooking, decorating, and family celebrations, the one-hour A Home for Christy Rost: Thanksgiving public television program is centered around Christy’s and her husband Randy’s extensive restoration of Swan’s Nest, set overlooking the stunning Rocky Mountain Ten Mile Range. Rost’s national programming is the sole national public television cooking and lifestyle content based in Colorado. The show has aired nationally each year since 2009.

The Thanksgiving program has enjoyed great success since its premiere in 2009, reaching more than 86 percent of the country, on 338 stations in 43 states.

Each year, Create TV has broadcast “marathons” of A Home for Christy Rost: Thanksgiving on select dates in November so fans can enjoy Christy Rost’s energy, charm, and creative how-to’s to complement and inspire their own Thanksgiving gatherings. The show is an introduction to Christy’s forthcoming national television series for American Public Television, Celebrating Home with Christy Rost, which is currently in pre-production.

“I’m thrilled and honored A Home for Christy Rost: Thanksgiving has been renewed again for the 2013 and 2014 holiday seasons,” said Christy Rost. “Each year, I hear from countless viewers how much the show adds value and meaning to their own Thanksgiving celebrations with family and friends. Many of the viewer emails are quite touching, and I’m gratified my work has made a positive difference for so many.”
