J. LOHR VINEYARDS & WINES’ TOUCHING LIVES

CAMPAIGN SURPASSES 5,000 MAMMOGRAMS AND EXTENDS IMPACT

J. LOHR VINEYARDS & WINES’ TOUCHING LIVESLohr Family Partnership with National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc.® Celebrates Ninth Year Anniversary with Support of Additional Services

  1. Lohr Vineyards & Wines is proud to announce the continuation of its groundbreaking Touching Livescampaign, having recently surpassed the funding of 5,000 mammograms for women in need through its partnership with National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF). Over the past year, Touching Liveshas extended its impact by expanding its support to include Patient Navigation programs and the launch of the HOPE Kit initiative. $3 from every bottle sold of J. Lohr Carol’s Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon and $2 from every bottle sold of J. Lohr Carol’s Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc are donated to support NBCF’s efforts in funding early detection services including mammograms, Patient Navigation programs and HOPE Kits.

As the namesake of Carol Waldorf Lohr, Carol’s Vineyard is a stunning 35-acre vineyard in northern St. Helena, Napa Valley, and is the source for the wines that contribute to the Touching Lives campaign.J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines originally partnered with NBCF when it designated the 2005 J. Lohr Carol’s Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon as a commemorative release in honor of J. Lohr Founder Jerry Lohr’s late wife, Carol, who passed away in 2008 due to complications from breast cancer. Since the program’s inception, sales from both J. Lohr Carol’s Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc and J. Lohr Carol’s Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon have supported early detection and awareness through mammograms.

Building on the recent milestone of having funded 5,000 mammograms, J. Lohr and NBCF are partnering to fund additional services, including Patient Navigation programs. These programs provide trained patient navigators to help guide women through and around health care barriers to ensure timely diagnosis, treatment, and support. In 2016 alone, NBCF helped fund 36 Patient Navigation programs, supporting 74,338 mammograms and 237,775 overall service touchpoints.

As 2017 marks National Breast Cancer Foundation’s 25th anniversary, a new initiative—HOPE Kits—is being unveiled. Providing a tangible way to show compassion and support for women undergoing breast cancer treatment, HOPE Kits provide comforting items and encouraging gifts to women in need. J. Lohr is an active steward of this program and plans to fundraise for HOPE Kit Packing Parties to help distribute these kits to women in local community hospitals.

“As a family company, we’re passionately committed through Touching Lives to empower women with access to support and services at every step of their cancer journey,” said J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines Co-Owner and Trade and Brand Advocate Cynthia Lohr. “It is a staggering statistic that breast cancer will impact one out of every eight women—along with those who love them. We’ve seen our Touching Livescampaign resonate with so many in a way that galvanizes our trade and distributor partners, not to mention consumers. My brothers, father and I are truly grateful for this campaign’s impact over the past nine years.
