The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa, a family-friendly resort located directly off Hilton Head Island’s award-winning beaches, announces the appointment of Mike Tighe as the resort’s General Manager.

Bringing over 30 years of experience, Tighe oversees the day-to-day operations of the resort with the primary goals of ensuring revenue and guest satisfaction is exceeded. A seasoned manager, Tighe leads with a “putting people first” approach and encourages his staff to form relationships with every guest, ensuring an enjoyable stay and creating repeat visitors.

Well respected within the Marriott International family, Tighe comes to the island resort with experience holding various operational positions at some of the largest hotels in Marriott’s portfolio including the New York Marriott Marquis, the San Francisco Marriott Marquis, and the Atlanta Marriott Marquis.

Most recently, Tighe served as General Manager of The Westin Cape Coral Resort at Marina Village in Florida, where he found great success in overseeing the resort’s repositioning and managing a $31 million renovation. Under his leadership, the resort achieved record financial performance, an increase in the level of employee engagement, and its highest-ever guest satisfaction scores.

As an active member of the community, Tighe has served on various boards, including the Friends of Rookery Bay, Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association, and the Lee County Sports Organization. Tighe is excited to bring his diverse skill set in hospitality management to his position as General Manager at The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa and the island as a whole.
