Oregon Wine Country Restaurant Opens Ultimate Food-Lover’s Guest Cottage

The Painted Lady’s Guest Cottage offers comfort and intimacy paired with unique culinary packages and boutique wine experiences.

A stay at the new Painted Lady Guest Cottage is like living in your own wine country vacation home, but with a talented chef and sommelier tending to your dining needs.  Now open, The Painted Lady Restaurant’s owners, husband and wife team Chef Allen Routt and Jessica Bagley, have created the ultimate gourmet getaway in a quaint turn-of-the-century guest cottage set just next door to their AAA Four-Diamond restaurant in Oregon’s beautiful wine country.

The 1,100-square foot fully furnished guest cottage is tucked away in a residential neighborhood in the heart of Newberg, Oregon, and was designed with the food and wine lover in mind.

“We bought the cottage in 2006, just a year after we opened The Painted Lady,” says executive chef and co-owner Allen Routt.  His previous experience working at the renowned Inn at Little Washington in Virginia left him dreaming of offering a similar overnight experience at his own restaurant. “Jessica and I have always loved the idea of being able to offer wine country accommodations. By opening the guest cottage, we hope to provide our guests a special and delightful way to visit – or revisit – Oregon wine country,” adds Routt.

Amenities at the Guest Cottage include:

-2 charming bedrooms (large master and small guest, both with queen beds)

-1 ½ baths

-Complimentary bottle of Oregon wine

-Fully stocked gourmet kitchen

-Comfortable living room and dining room

-Access to the edible gardens in the front yard – pick your own salads!

-Covered outdoor patio with dining area, fire pit and BBQ

-Flat screen TVs, cable, wireless internet, games, books and DVDs

-Washer/dryer

-Easy access to the restaurant – just a stroll through the front yard.

“It took us about six months to renovate the cottage, and we are thrilled with how it turned out,” says The Painted Lady general manager and co-owner Jessica Bagley. “It’s cozy and comfortable and we think it gives a wonderful new dimension to the wine-country experience. You can feel like a local by visiting the neighborhood farmers’ market, or foraging for ingredients from the restaurant’s backyard culinary garden, or elevating the experience by selecting one of our culinary packages,” adds Bagley.

The Painted Lady Guest Cottage offers four culinary-inspired packages including:

About The Painted Lady:

The Painted Lady Restaurant is owned and operated by Chef Allen Routt and his wife and general manager Jessica Bagley. Seven years ago, the couple refurbished a beautiful two-story Victorian home, creating their dream restaurant on a tree-lined street in the heart of Newberg, Oregon. Inside the green house with the bright red door, Routt and Bagley bring the region’s abundant ingredients to life with their five-course tasting menu, and optional wine pairings. Ingredients arrive at the back door direct from neighboring farms, and are transformed into dishes like Crispy Skin Striped Bass with Cauliflower Purée and Caper Brown Butter, and then paired with select local wines that the knowledgeable wait staff is eager to share with guests. Now, the Painted Lady Restaurant is excited to offer overnight accommodations at The Painted Lady Guest Cottage.

The Painted Lady is open for dinner from 5pm, Wednesday-Sunday. For reservations visit their website at: www.thepaintedladyrestaurant.com, or call 503-538-3850. For more information about The Painted Lady Guest Cottage, please visit www.thepaintedladycottage.com.
