PLANTA INTRODUCES PLANT-BASED ASIAN CUISINE IN COCONUT GROVE

PLANTA, the 100 percent plant-based restaurant concept led by Steven Salm’s Chase Hospitality Group and Co-Founder & Executive Chef David Lee, will introduce Miami to plant-based Asian cuisine when the new PLANTA Queen opens in the heart of Coconut Grove on Saturday, November 7.

Inspired entirely by Chef David Lee’s travels throughout Asia, PLANTA Queen Coconut Grove will be the first U.S. outpost of its sister restaurant in Toronto. The menu will feature plant-based takes on authentic Asian cuisine, using high quality, responsibly sourced ingredients in an elevated atmosphere. Highlights from the menu include various nigiri, maki & sushi such as the Queen Roll – spicy hearts of palm, avocado, cucumber, tempura; Potato Truffle Dumplings – cabbage, coconut milk, lemongrass broth; Singapore Slaw – cabbage, peppers, sesame, beets, carrots, radish, cucumber, scallions, vermicelli pasta, taro root, cilantro, meanuts, hearts of palm, ahi watermelon; the Bao Burger – hoisin, lettuce, pickled cucumber, fries; and a selection of wok favorites including General Lee’s Cauliflower – bell peppers, onions, ginger, sesame.

The 7,000-square-foot, 160-seat restaurant will be brought to life by the renowned team at ICRAVE, drawing inspiration from the elegant traditional Chinese courtyards and architectural gems found throughout Asia. The restaurant is broken up into two main areas – the front bar and dining lounge, which is anchored by an expansive, U-shaped concrete and framed by a backdrop of rose gold penny-round tiles and exposed concrete. The room is encircled with dusty rose velvet seats and spectacular Cielo quartzite tables. The main dining room is wrapped in glass and overlooks the tree-lined streetscape below. The room is anchored with seating nooks lined with Candice Kaye’s custom PLANTA Queen wallpaper, featuring bleached white oak and ebony wood planks. The raspberry red brand color pops the space with custom light fixtures anchored to the mint green plaster columns.

The notion of ‘skylights’ is incorporated into all of PLANTA’s designs to give the sense of openness and warmth. At PLANTA Queen Coconut Grove, this is done through suspended decorative wooden trellises that uplight floating metallic rose gold clouds above, reflecting a beautiful warm light down into the space and casting diners in a sexy glow.

“We’re proud to introduce this innovative experience to Miami and continue breaking the mold for the upscale restaurant experience,” says Steven Salm, CEO of Chase Hospitality Group, “Plant-based dining is the future, and PLANTA is leading the charge with our inventive takes on every type of cuisine you can imagine.
