TAYLOR FARMS DEBUTS NEW SCHOOLSERVICE PRODUCT LINETaylor Farms Foodservice, North America’s leader in value-added produce for foodservice announces a new dedicated line of nutritious, fresh produce products targeting the discerning palates of American school children. The new “Schoolservice” line debuts with flagship products of specially formulated, healthy salad mixes including Freestylers Sesame Ginger Slaw Mix, Freestylers Caesa r Salad Mix, and Sol-O’s Cinnamon Dusted Carrot Chips. The products are the result of extensive nutritional research and focus group testing among school age children.

Schoolservice is part of a company-wide commitment of helping kids eat healthy. Taylor Farms knows that when kids make food choices, their first consideration is taste. So, we’ve worked very hard to style healthy produce mixes for young palates. They’re nutritious, crunchy, tasty mixes that kids love, and we fulfill our promise to help schools help kids eat healthy.

Taylor Farms’ Schoolservice line is also labeled, portioned and packaged to conform to the serving requirements of the USDA’s National School Lunch Program (NSLP), which provides school districts reimbursement for school lunches served within nutritional guidelines for students in grades K-5, 6-8 and 9-12. Dealing with federal guidelines can be challenging, but Taylor Farms Schoolservice makes it easy with our NSLP calculator, which helps schools decipher requirements and maximize reimbursement from the federal government. Taylor Farms Foodservice is currently negotiating with national foodservice distributors for custom branded Schoolservice offerings sourced by Taylor. Company officials hope to announce further details on Schoolservice partnerships by the end of 2Q 2013.
