The Bungalow Kitchen by Michael Mina, the lively dining destination and social clubhouse, is pleased to announce the appointment of distinguished chef, Harrison Chernick as Executive Chef to its Tiburon location. Chernick, a well-known face among MINA Group, brings a wealth of knowledge and culinary prowess to his new position at the bustling waterfront locale imagined by founders chef Michael Mina and hospitality veteran, Brent Bolthouse.


“After many years with MINA Group, I’m thrilled to start this next chapter in Tiburon with the incredibly talented team at The Bungalow Kitchen,” commented Chernick. “I’m honored to have been given the opportunity to continue working under the guidance of Chef Mina and to share my passion with the locals within the community as well as the larger Bay Area.”


Chernick got his start with MINA Group when he was recruited to join the team at Bourbon Steak in Washington D.C., from which he climbed the ranks from butcher to eventually earning the title of lead line cook. To further his career, Chernick then moved to San Francisco and assumed the position of sous chef at MINA Test Kitchen, followed by roles at PABU Izakaya, The Ramen Bar, and Michelin-starred MICHAEL MINA. Since 2015, Chernick has played an instrumental part  in the opening of several emerging MINA Group brands across the globe including International Smoke, Margeaux Brasserie, The Street, StripSteak, INDIE SUPERETTE, MINA’s Fish House, and Wit & Wisdom.

Chef Chernick is currently at the helm at the two-story, dynamic venue that boasts views of the San Francisco skyline, Angel Island and beyond, and he has already began integrating his own innovations into the menu of seasonally fresh and elevated California cuisine. The Bungalow Kitchen also recently debuted its signature event series in partnership with notable global wine producers, An Evening of Food & Wine, in which Chernick will create thoughtfully curated five-course menus on a rotating basis.

Brent Bolthouse is the founder of The Bungalow Hospitality Group, a collective with a deep history in Southern California. The portfolio currently includes The Bungalow flagship location in Santa Monica and its sister property in Huntington Beach, in addition to The Bungalow Kitchen, a new social dining experience from Bolthouse and longstanding partner Chef Michael Mina.
