THE JUST ONE PROJECT PARTNERS WITH THE ATHLETICS TO PROVIDE FULL THANKSGVING MEALS TO 200-PLUS LOCAL FOOD INSECURE FAMILIES

WHAT: The Just One Project, a nonprofit that serves more than 17,000 food insecure Southern Nevadans monthly through mobile and client-centric grocery distribution of fresh produce and pantry essentials, is partnering with The Athletics, who are underwriting full Thanksgiving meals, including turkeys and multiple side dishes, for 200 pre-selected food insecure families in Southern Nevada on Friday, Nov. 17 starting at 8:30 a.m.

More than 30 volunteers wearing A’s ballcaps, also donated by the team, will be on hand to provide the holiday meals to clients of The Just One Project.

The holiday meal distribution follows The Just One Project’s farmers market model, an immersive, by appointment, no-cost shopping experience that provides free fruits and vegetables to families. Clients are greeted with recipe cards and then invited to shop for those ingredients at the stands.

According to Brooke Neubauer, CEO and Founder of The Just One Project, community partners like The Athletics are critical to ensuring the organization can meet the growing need for fresh food and groceries. “We are incredibly grateful to The Athletics for stepping up to the plate to provide a wonderful holiday meal to more than 200 Southern Nevada families,” she said. “We acknowledge the significance of their contribution as well as their partnership. We look forward to growing our partnership and their continuing investment in our community.”

The Just One Project reminds the community that Nevada ranked eighth nationally among states with the highest projected overall food insecurity rates in 2021, as compiled by Feeding America.

WHEN: Friday, Nov. 17 starting at 8:30 a.m.

WHERE: Media is invited to cover the Thanksgiving Meal Giveaway at The Just One Project headquarters, 1401 N Decatur Blvd Suite 34, Las Vegas, NV, 89108
