THE NED NOMAD OPENS IN NEW YORK, FEATURING THE FIRST MANHATTAN CECCONI’S OUTPOST AND THE LITTLE NED BAR, HELMED BY HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY VETERAN RICHIE AKIVA

Membership Collective Group pened its doors June 30th to The Ned NoMad in New York City, its second property for The Ned members club and hotel worldwide, and its first  location in North America, helmed by Richie Akiva, the world renowned hospitality entrepreneur known for establishing brands like Butter, 1OAK, Up&Down and curating the most in demand parties globally for decades.

The Ned Nomad Opens in New York

The Ned NoMad, five years after its successful London debut, the Manhattan location offers an elevated membership experience in the revitalized NoMad area of New York City.  Akiva in partnership with Executive Chairman Ron Burkle and founder Nick Jones, curates an unmatched member and guest experience at The Ned NoMad through incredible programming, restaurants with the finest cuisine offered by renowned chef Brian VanderGast, elevated libations, and incredible, carefully designed ambiance. The multiple areas of the members club combined with the gorgeous restored hotel bedrooms, create a sophisticated and inviting haven for its patrons.

The Ned caters to a professional demographic, leveraging MCG’s 27-year success of building membership  brands. Located in the historic Johnston Building, The Ned NoMad covers 117,000 sq ft and includes Ned’s Club; a members’ club that gives access to spaces including a lavish indoor and outdoor rooftop terrace with direct views of The Empire State building, as well as 167  bedrooms. It also hosts a Cecconi’s restaurant, the popular Venetian-inspired restaurant group owned by MCG. The restaurant marks Cecconi’s first Manhattan location and second in New York taking the Italian restaurant group to 13 locations globally.

Expansion across Membership Collective Group continues this year with the opening of a third Ned location in Doha, Qatar, a second location coming to New York City in 2024 on Wall Street, new Soho House locations including Stockholm, a second property in Miami, Copenhagen, Mexico City and Bangkok, and The Line Hotel in San Francisco.

  • THE FIRST INTERNATIONAL OUTPOST FOR THE NED, THE MEMBERS CLUB  AND HOTEL FROM THE SOHO HOUSE TEAM
  • LOCATED IN THE ICONIC JOHNSTON BUILDING WITH 167 BEDROOMS, SIX RESTAURANTS AND BARS, THE NED NOMAD HAS ALREADY BECOME A MAJOR IN-DEMAND NEW YORK HOT SPOT

Cecconi’s

The Ned NoMad hosts New York’s second and Manhattan’s first Cecconi’s restaurant. Situated on the first floor, to the left of the main entrance the modern-day classic Italian restaurant serves hand-made pasta, wood-oven pizza, seafood, and dishes from Northern Italy. Design details include a hand-chipped mosaic and terrazzo striped floor, a new take on the traditional Cecconi’s stripe, set against navy velvet banquettes, golden-yellow leather chairs, and a polished timber bar, inspired by classic mid-century Italian Trattorias. Cecconi’s is open to the public, with advance reservations for members and hotel guests only.

Little Ned

Offering a smaller menu of bar classics, Little Ned’s first floor is accessible to members and hotel guests, while the mezzanine level is for members only. Expect a menu of club favorites, from caviar and steak tartare to burgers and salads. Little Ned has 1920s-style booth seating, with upholstery inspired by the former Banking Hall at The Ned London, and club chairs and burl wood tables on the mezzanine floor, with views of the Empire State Building.
