Further to a meeting at Number 10 Downing Street and the Prime Minister`s office It gives us great pleasure to announce that Alan Coxon, multi award-winning chef, culinary innovator, TV presenter, author, international judge and food archaeologist has been invited to assist in the Government’s international GREAT Britain campaign.
Alan will be representing and promoting the British food, beverage and tourism industries as part of the GREAT campaign, working closely alongside Visit Britain, the national tourism agency and UK Trade and Investment.
Taking on a multifaceted role, Alan will be helping to promote and expose British food and drink around the world, with the aim of increasing awareness and generating export opportunities. Alan will be leveraging the contacts he has made over a 30 year career in the industry, having worked in leading hotels and Michelin starred restaurants across Europe, cooking for royalty, heads of state and stars of stage, screen and music.
In addition, Alan will be wearing his “Food Archaeologist” hat helping to promote the culinary heritage within British Tourism.

Alan is an International culinary judge for the “iTQi” (International Taste and Quality Institute)”Superior Taste Awards”, an annual event held in Brussels.

Alan has over 26 years in the culinary industry and has worked as a chef in Michelin star restaurants in Monte Carlo and as head chef, opened the largest 4 star hotel in Europe, consisting of a 1098 rooms leading an international culinary brigade of over 68 chefs and also ran his own restaurant on the Isle of Man. He is now a culinary consultant for food and beverage producers and restaurants alike.

Alan`s latest TV series that he wrote, presented and also produced is called “From Birmingham to Bombay” now showing on Food network UK” and a variety of networks around the globe. This food and travel series looks at the history and origination of 5 of the UK`s / the world’s most popular curries.
Other media activities include hosting a weekly chef radio show, a food and travel columnist for 4 monthly magazines, an after dinner speaker and events host. as well as performs corporate and public cookery demonstrations at food shows and events around the world cementing his place among cookery’s culinary broadcasting elite.
Alan is a member of the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts and in 2010 was awarded the Maitrise Escoffier Award 2010.
