Drink with the Band at Austin City Limits

It ‘s about that time of year to get your sunscreen, glow sticks, fanny packs and floral prints ready because Austin City Limits is just around the corner. In the spirit of this year’s stellar band lineup, we have scoured the Austin bar scene to find cocktails fit for our favorite ACL performers. Here is our libation lineup:

icenhauer’s <http://www.icenhauers.com/> Bar Manager Julie Campbell is spicing things up to commemorate ACL headliner and music legend, Red Hot Chili Peppers. Combining icenhauer’s house made red pepper infused silver tequila with agave nectar and fresh lime juice, The Red Hot Chili Pepper will have you blurting out the lyrics to ‘Californication’ by the end of the night (you know you have those memorized).

Owner and head bartender Rob Pate ofPéché <http://www.pecheaustin.com/> recommends the aptly titled Mustache Gun cocktail for headliner Jack White at this year’s Austin City Limits. Made with Bulleit bourbon, yellow Chartreuse, sugar & Fernet Branca, it’s sure to keep the Nashville musician warbling and guitar pickin’ until the wee hours. <http://www.barmirabeau.com/index.php>

At the soon-to-open (September 23) Bar Mirabeau <http://www.barmirabeau.com/>  in Downtown Austin, Chef-Owner Parind Vora’s playful sense of humor is reflected in his cocktail pick for the always quirky and often irreverent hip hop artist (and Donald Glover alter ego) Childish Gambino: The Pear Bottomed Girl drink is made with Belvedere vodka, St. Germaine liquor, pear puree, lemon juice and freshly cracked black peppercorn.

The recently opened Swift’s Attic <http://swiftsattic.com/> , located in the heart of downtown Austin on Congress Avenue, has received much acclaim and attention locally.Their talented bar manager, Jeff Hammett, has crafted a list of punny and palatable pleasers. Decidedly southern, The Reunited <https://www.dropbox.com/sh/naka15h44uk2bcw/XFvdzd_qPI/Drinks/DSC_1556_edited.jpg>  features includes sage and fresh Texas peaches muddled with full-bodied OG brandy and Cointreau–perfect for the reunion of Neil Young and Crazy Horse…and it feels so good.
