Homestead Again Tops Grapevine Wine Tours Annual Voting

Homestead Again Tops Grapevine Wine Tours Annual VotingFor the fifth consecutive year, guests of the Grapevine Wine Tours have chosen Homestead Winery as the city’s “Most Outstanding Winery.”

And for the fourth time in five years, one of Homestead’s wines was voted Grapevine’s “Most Outstanding Wine.” For 2015, that honor goes to Orange Muscat.

As it has since its inception in July 2010, Grapevine Wine Tours asks every guest to vote on his or her favorite wine and winery at the conclusion of each tour. This year’s results reflect votes cast between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2015.

“We are always honored to be singled out by our friends at the Grapevine Wine Tours, but this year’s awards are even more meaningful because of all the excellent new wineries that have come to town,” said Gabe Parker, owner of Homestead Winery. “With the increased competition, we knew our wines and our service would be put to the test. I guess this means we passed!”

Grapevine Wine Tours are available daily year-round and rotate among each of the wine-tasting venues in the city, including Cross Timbers Winery, Delaney Vineyards, Grape Vine Springs Winery, Homestead, Messina Hof Winery, Sloan & Williams Winery, Su Vino Winery and Wine Fusion Winery.

Every four-hour excursion includes tastings at two wineries, a delicious meal with wine at either Farina’s Winery & Café or Winewood Grill, a tour of Historic Grapevine led by a professional guide, and transportation to and from local hotels on one of the company’s three creatively wrapped tour buses.

“Over the past two years, Grapevine has added several outstanding new wineries – including Sloan & Williams, Messina Hof and Wine Fusion – which we believe have raised the bar for every wine venue in the city,” said Nancy Childs, co-owner of Grapevine Wine Tours and its sister operation, Dallas Wine Tours. “Homestead has been a popular stop on our tours from the very beginning thanks to their exceptional customer service, generous pours and charming atmosphere. But our guests love the variety that our tours offer, which is why we experienced a record number of repeat visitors last year.”

Lunch and dinner tours are affordably priced at $89.50 and $99.50, respectively. Customized packages – designed for corporate outings, conference and convention groups, fundraisers, birthday and anniversary celebrations, bachelorette parties and other special occasions – are also available.

Several area hotels now offer special packages including the wine tours. See grapevinewinetours.com/pages/gwtpackages.html for more information.
