Kneaders first opened its doors in 1997 with a focus on serving customers fresh and wholesome food in a warm, friendly and caring environment where everyone would feel welcome. Giving back to the communities that helped Kneaders succeed has also been a priority of the family-owned brand. Beginning with their very first store, Kneaders’ founders Gary and Colleen Worthington have donated day old hearth bread to a local non-profit organization feeding the hungry and have strongly encouraged every store to continue the tradition in their local communities.

“Our guests have become family to us,” said Gary Worthington, Co-Founder of Kneaders Bakery & Cafe. “Colleen and I started this company to share our love for baking bread with others. It’s incredible that we can do what we love and help those in need in our community.”

“I grew up in the kitchen, so to see my parent’s dream grow into what Kneaders is now, has been a gift,” said James Worthington, CEO of Kneaders Bakery & Cafe. “We are touched that Kneaders has become a place where families can experience wholesome food while creating memories and celebrating milestones together.”

Kneaders has expanded to 59 stores in eight states with an additional 10 percent in-store growth projected for 2018. The stores, which typically bring an average of 40 jobs per location, include a retail component offering a variety of sandwiches, soups, salads, pastries and breads, custom-made gift baskets, home décor, online ordering capabilities and drive-thru service.
