BRISKET KING® NYC’S BATTLE OF THE BRISKET RETURNS TO PIG BEACH

For the 12th spectacular year, Jimmy Carbone, founder of Food Karma Projects, is bringing Brisket King® NYC back to Pig Beach BBQ in Queens on April 17, 2024.

This one-of-a-kind walk-around tasting event features the best of traditional and global BBQ, with over two dozen chefs from across the country showing off their smokehouse talents and celebrating flavors of Thai, Dominican, Mexican, Tex- Korean, West Indian Jerk, and more.

The 2024 lineup offers mouthwatering bites from over 20 competitors, alongside beer and whiskey from artisans like Bubba’s Whiskey by Michter’s, Brooklyn’s Fort Hamilton Distillery and NY Distilling, Romilly Hard Cider and craft beer by Ramstein Beer.

For over a decade, Brisket King® NYC has attracted hundreds of brisket nerds and backyard barbecue enthusiasts eager to savor the live competition and dig into traditional and cross-cultural BBQ flavors, alongside chef’s quirkier more playful plates like donut sandwiches, bagel and brisket combos, corn dogs, and brisket biscuits.

This year, the lineup is better than ever with renowned chefs like Christine Espinal Rosa of Blue Smoke, Robert Austin Cho of Kimchi Smoke, Dhanapol Marprasert and Jina Tisopa of KAM RAI THAI, and Jeff Schmidt and Mark Fuller of Hindsight BBQ (among dozens of others) who will go head to head for the Brisket King® NYC Crown.

Past crowd favorites have included Sous Vide Brisket Nigiri with Lamb Bacon, Nuea Mori, Brisket with Cajun Dirty Rice, Pastrami, Brisket Tacos with Birria, Brisket Bulgogi, and Brisket Terrine, just to name a few.

To decide who wins the ultimate Crown, a group of judges made up of barbecue royalty and food media will be on hand including Jaymee Sire, Host of Food Network Obsessed Podcast; Andrew Rigie, NYC Hospitality Alliance; Misty Banchero, @seattlebutcherswife; Andrea Strong, author of The Strong Buzz; Nick Solares, meat expert; and Steph Perez, @yeahfoodbeer
