Cuvaison is excited to announce that it has appointed industry veteran Sylvie Tannhauser to the role of hospitality manager. Tannhauser will manage the newly redesigned and expanded Tasting Salon at the 400-acre Cuvaison Estate in the beautiful Los Carneros region of Napa Valley. A hospitality and events expert with more than a decade of wine-focused experience, Tannhauser will also contribute her expertise to the winery’s event and wine club programs, including creating new luxury guest experiences, tasting flight options, special events and enhanced wine club engagement.
Tannhauser was born and raised in the French Caribbean before moving to Montpellier, France, where she earned a B.A. in global communications strategy from ESICAD College. While in Montpellier, Tannhauser fell in love with wine and began her career in the French Tourist office, where she worked to promote the wine industry through tour and tasting events. In 2010, she relocated to the United States, working at Brickell Travel in Miami, where she organized luxury wine and culinary tours, before moving to Napa Valley in 2011 to immerse herself in the California wine industry. In the years since, Tannhauser has worked at several prestigious Napa Valley estates including Cakebread and most recently Domaine Chandon. Tannhauser is a Certified Sommelier, holds the WSET III Advanced certification, a Wine Business Management certification from Sonoma State University, and is a Master of Champagne through the Wine Scholars Guild.
“While I was drawn to Cuvaison’s rich history as one of the pioneers of cool-climate Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in Napa Valley, what really excites me is how forward-looking the winery is,” said Tannhauser. “Whether it’s investments in the estate vineyard, the newly redesigned Tasting Salon, or the exceptional quality and character of the wines, this is an incredibly dynamic time for Cuvaison. As hospitality manager, I’m excited to build on this great foundation as we continue to elevate Cuvaison’s guest experience, educate our customers, and find fun and exciting ways to tell our story and share the natural beauty of our historic estate.”
“As a winery that has always taken pride in providing a world-class hospitality experience, we are thrilled to have Sylvie join our team,” said Estate Director Brendan Finley. “Not only will her knowledge and expertise further elevate our winery experiences, as a sommelier and a wine educator, she will be able to share our story in fun and exciting ways while establishing deeper, more meaningful relationships with our club members and customers.”
Located one hour from San Francisco and just 10 minutes from downtown Napa, the Cuvaison Tasting Salon is located at 1221 Duhig Rd, where it is nestled amid the vineyard in a bucolic setting, with no visible roads or traffic. The Tasting Salon is open for by-appointment, seated tastings daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with extended summer hours on the weekends.
