Five Marcus Restaurant Properties Awarded Wine Spectator Recognition

Geneva ChopHouse, Bloomington ChopHouse, Mason Street Grill, Milwaukee ChopHouse, and Grey Rock Restaurant Receive Award of Excellence

 Marcus® Restaurant Group today announced that five of its premier properties have earned 2018 Wine Spectator Awards of Excellence to recognize their superior wine programs. The award-winning restaurants include:

  • Geneva ChopHouse located in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, and Bloomington ChopHouse located in Bloomington, Minnesota, which received the award for their first time;
  • Mason Street Grill, located in Milwaukee, which is celebrating its sixth award;
  • Milwaukee ChopHouse, also located in Milwaukee, which is receiving the award for its eighth year; and,
  • Grey Rock Restaurant, located at the Heidel House Resort & Spa in Green Lake, Wisconsin, which has earned the award for 16 years.

The Wine Spectator Award of Excellence recognizes fewer than 2,400 restaurants each year, requiring at least 90 wine options and a well-chosen assortment of quality producers, along with a thematic match to the restaurant menu.

“Wine contributes significantly to the exceptional experience that our guests expect from Marcus Restaurants,” said Joe Jackson, corporate director of food and beverage for Marcus Hotels & Resorts. “This significant recognition highlights our spirit of excellence and hospitality. I’m thrilled to see our team’s thoughtful work continue to be recognized year after year.”

To be considered for an Award of Excellence, each Marcus Restaurant property submitted a nomination highlighting its particular strengths:

Bloomington ChopHouse – Offers more than 175 different wines by the glass or bottle and has an inventory of almost 2,000 bottles on site. With a strong selection of California and Oregon wines, the restaurant is receiving the Award of Excellence for the first time in 2018.
